Homeless Teens to Successful Entrepreneurs
The Sanchez kids are learning about the business world and how to be successful in both business and life. The three kids, two still in high school, run an up-and-coming bicycle messenger service in San Diego, CA know as Sanchez Delivery. They will deliver just about anything for a flat fee of $10 except for the delivery of legal documents to court which costs $15.

The family became homeless when their father’s company went out of business. He is now serving time in jail. Additionally, there are several other children in the family and their mother is disabled and can’t work. The family ended up staying at a homeless shelter. All kids attended the Monarch School in San Diego, the nation’s largest school for homeless children.

John Rosicky, a retired businessman, is a volunteer at the school. One day he was speaking with the Sanchez kids about finding jobs. Rosicky looked into the idea of a bicycle messenger service for downtown San Diego.  Discovering there was a market for this type of service; Rosicky started the kids off with bicycles, bags and shirts.
The Sanchez family is now living in an apartment. The kids have dreams of graduating from college and maybe even going to law school.

When the Sanchez kids aren’t busy delivering packages and documents, you can find them outside of the San Diego Hall of Justice passing out flyers for their company. Sanchez Delivery can be reached at 619-630-3200 or sanchezdelivery@ymail.com.
